What happened to SAB Detachering?

We were previously known as SAB Detachering, but in June 2021, we changed our name. This decision followed a long history.

SAB (Stichting Centraal Administratiebureau) was founded in 1950 in collaboration with Koninklijke Hoogovens. Over the years, the foundation grew into a respected and reliable provider of temporary staff for production and administration. In 2007, the scope expanded to include technical staff.

In 2015, Tata Steel stepped back as a participant in the foundation. SAB was restructured into SAB Detachering and became part of BuildingCareers Companies. The company then shifted its focus to providing qualified technicians and project managers (mbo4-, hbo-, and wo-level) to various industrial clients.

Because SAB Detachering and BuildingCareers Recruitment & Selection operated as one team, and the two brands grew closer over time, we decided to merge both activities under a single label: BuildingCareers. Now, we offer both interim projects and recruitment and selection, providing tailored solutions for engineers and industrial clients alike.

What services does BuildingCareers offer?

We connect engineers for both short- and long-term assignments. Our services include short-term (freelance) projects, interim assignments, or secondment programs, as well as long-term placements via recruitment or detavast arrangements.

Whether temporary or permanent, we ensure the right person is matched to the right role.

What types of engineers do you work with?

We place engineers and technical professionals across the entire asset lifecycle: design phase, construction and commissioning, production and maintenance, and finally, revamp and decommissioning. Positions we fill include roles like project engineer, safety specialist, assembly coordinator, process operator, project planner, or QA manager.

What levels of education do you support?

We provide secondment and recruitment services for technical professionals with wo-, hbo-, and mbo4-level education.

What types of companies do you work with?

We primarily work with asset owners, the end users of installations, particularly in the 24/7 manufacturing industry. Our focus is on projects aimed at making the industry more sustainable.
